I bantered back and forth with a friend that it was not just any old Friday, but Jeans Friday. I was in such a happy state of mind that I stopped to buy baked goodies for everyone in the Office
Humming, I go to the Pantry to lay out the treats. There is something special about doing nice things for your co-workers. Giving IS receiving. Onlookers shouldn’t be deceived by my easy manner and relaxed behavior, because I am way into my work mode attitude and already prioritizing my To Do List.
I remember too many Fridays that felt like Mondays. My reality is that there is no such thing as 9-5. And so no matter how pressured and stressful the week has been, it always amazes me how much it lifts my spirits just knowing it's Friday. I’ve learned to look forward to the end of the work week and it’s always a race for me to see if I can finish every "To Do" on time.
I’ve learned to pack my bag and shut down quickly, say my farewells and walk out the door in a matter of minutes. Any sort of lingering might just cut into my get-away and ruin my exit into the weekend.
And by the way, let me say to all the Doubters, my quick getaway in no way indicates a dislike for my work, because in my world, time is valuable and when I am on my way out the door, I prefer not to be tripped up by last minute should-haves and could-haves.
Wishing you CWW Career-Wise Ways…!, and a Happy Friday!!
